How do I take care of my fresh truffle?Updated 7 months ago

Truffles are a highly perishable product and best within 5-7 days after delivery.  Truffles can be shipped from our facility two ways; in a cloth “dog bag” and custom box (if 2 ounces) or more or in our glass jar (if one or half an ounce) packed in rice. The rice is only used for shipping purposes and can be discarded.

If sent in a jar, remove the truffle from the jar and wrap in an unbleached paper towel, and discard rice.  Fresh truffles release moisture naturally and you may need to change the paper towel daily.  Keep your truffle in a breathable container (we use a wooden box), but can be kept in the vegetable crisper or butter door compartment in the fridge.  If you choose to use the glass jar, make sure to wipe out any condensation, wrap in a paper  towel, and do not let your truffle sit in moisture or liquid.
